How We Choose Chauffeurs
No chauffeur takes an Ad Astra booking until the owner has worked alongside them directly and knows how they drive. Most have been with us more than ten years. That is the whole standard, and no other company in this market publishes one at all.
Across the forty-five chauffeur companies operating in this market, not one publishes anything about who actually drives. Some name an owner. One has a staff page with no people on it. The rest ask you to hand your family, your clients or your wedding party to whoever a dispatcher assigns, and say nothing further about it.
We think that is the wrong way round, so here is our standard in plain terms.
- Direct working history, not a résumé. Not a background check and a handshake — a decade of the owner having actually worked alongside that chauffeur before they take an Ad Astra booking.
- Licensed and commercially insured for chauffeured passenger transportation in Illinois. Certificates available for corporate accounts and venues that require them.
- Local road knowledge, tested. A chauffeur working a Barrington Hills estate drive or a Long Grove pickup has driven those roads before, not just routed them.
- Discretion as standard. What is discussed in the car stays in the car. This is an expectation of the role, not a service upgrade.
- Vehicle standard, not vehicle count. Late-model executive sedans, luxury SUVs and Sprinters, presented properly. We do not publish a fleet number because we are not a fleet operator, and inflating one would be the first lie on the site.
What We Will Not Claim
Plenty of sites in this market advertise review counts that do not exist, "#1" rankings with nothing behind them, and fleets they do not own. One local competitor advertises "200+ reviews" and has six.
So, for the avoidance of doubt: Ad Astra Limo does not own a large fleet. We do not employ dozens of drivers. We are a Barrington chauffeur company with a small, long-standing group of chauffeurs and published prices, and the thing we are actually selling is that we know who is picking you up.
Common Questions
Will I get the same chauffeur each time?
Wherever scheduling allows, yes — and for standing accounts we build the arrangement around it. On a peak weekend we may assign a different chauffeur from the same small group, but it will always be someone the owner has worked with directly — and you will know before the day, not at the kerb.
Are your chauffeurs employees or contractors?
Ad Astra works with independent professional chauffeurs rather than employing a driving staff. What matters for you is the selection rule, which does not change: direct working history with the owner before a single Ad Astra booking, and most of our chauffeurs have been with us more than ten years.
Are they licensed and insured?
Every chauffeur holds the licensing required for chauffeured passenger transportation in Illinois and carries commercial insurance on the vehicle they operate. We are glad to confirm the specifics for a corporate account or an event venue that requires certificates.
What happens if my chauffeur is unavailable?
The booking moves to another of our chauffeurs, held to the same standard, and we tell you before the day rather than surprising you at the kerb.
